Pharmaceuticals dominate Latvia’s biomedicine exports, representing 27% of total industry exports. In 2023, Latvia generated a turnover of €240 million, which underscores Latvia’s growing role in the global pharmaceutical market and its capacity to meet international demand.

Progress in biomedicine is primarily attributed to the close collaboration between private industry, research institutions, and government support, particularly through LIAA.
