Chemspec Europe 2026 will once again bring together producers, procurement professionals and technical experts from across the fine and speciality chemicals landscape, creating a central meeting point for industries spanning pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, speciality materials, coatings, personal care, electronics and energy.

As regulatory demands tighten, sustainability expectations rise and supply chains remain under pressure, the two-day event offers a timely snapshot of how the sector is adapting and where it is heading next. More than 400 global suppliers are expected to exhibit, covering custom synthesis, contract manufacturing, formulation, scale-up and specialist services. Companies including Albemarle, Brenntag, CABB Group, Johnson Matthey, Saltigo and Yashashvi Rasayan will showcase their capabilities, providing visitors with a clear view of current approaches across the value chain.

Alongside the exhibition, Chemspec Europe 2026 will feature two conference streams reflecting the technical and strategic challenges shaping today’s market. Across the two days, attendees can expect more than 30 expert-led sessions, delivering a balanced mix of strategic insight and technical depth. The Moleküle Hub will focus on innovation, process development and emerging process technologies, while the Strategy Stage will explore the broader commercial, regulatory and geopolitical forces influencing the sector.

Innovation and manufacturing insight at the Moleküle Hub

The Moleküle Hub places the spotlight on how chemistry is manufactured and scaled. Digitalisation and advanced manufacturing run throughout the programme, with sessions exploring how data, automation and artificial intelligence are reshaping approaches to R&D and production.

In From data to disruption: AI reshaping the chemicals industry, speakers will examine how digital tools are accelerating discovery, improving operational decision-making and enabling new approaches to innovation. These technologies are helping to shorten development cycles, increase production reliability and strengthen competitiveness across the value chain.

Manufacturing innovation is another core focus. In Pharma manufacturing: Scale-up of continuous-flow reactions, experts from Fluitec and Lonza will explore fully continuous approaches to synthesising and manufacturing high-value APIs and drug products. By linking reaction and purification steps within controlled flow environments, these systems can enhance safety, product quality and scalability, while remaining compatible with GMP requirements.

The journey from lab to production will be explored further in sessions on modular custom manufacturing, following the path from early route ideation through to commercial-scale delivery. These discussions will highlight the role of enabling technologies such as AI and 3D printing in improving flexibility and efficiency.

Sessions on continuous flow technologies will round out the programme, demonstrating how moving beyond traditional batch processing can support faster, more reliable scale-up. Real-world examples will show how improved heat transfer, mixing and reduced chemical hold-up can help companies bring products to market more quickly without compromising performance.

Strategic insight for a changing global landscape

Running in parallel, the Strategy Stage takes a wider view of the forces shaping the fine and speciality chemicals sector. A keynote panel, Scaling, adapting and partnering for the future, will bring together senior figures from Saltigo, High Force Research and FECC to discuss how businesses can navigate an increasingly complex operating environment.

Key themes will include geopolitical uncertainty, trade pressures, regulatory change and the growing importance of collaboration in building resilience and unlocking new opportunities. As the external landscape becomes more unpredictable, the ability to adapt and partner effectively is becoming a defining factor for long-term success.

Digital transformation will also feature strongly from a strategic perspective. Accelerating innovation: Reduce time-to-market by digitising early-stage development will explore how data-driven experimentation and predictive tools can help teams move more efficiently from concept to commercial reality. Meanwhile, Smart products: Accelerating chemical R&D with AI and simulation will focus on the practical application of modelling and simulation to optimise formulations, processes and resource efficiency, supporting faster innovation with reduced environmental impact.
